Made In Queens is a documentary the appeared in that Edinburgh International Film Festival back in ‘08. It’s about some kids from Queens who created portable sound systems on their bikes. I’m surprised I didn’t catch wind of this earlier, anyway check the trailer and see if it gets you interested.

Soundclass: The evolution of the soundsystem
Sunday, January 11th, 2009So I recently saw this 5 part documentary that talks about the evolution of the Jamaican soundsystem and its global influence on other music forms like UK Garage and Hip-Hop music (check out this post on the soundsystem in the UK for another perspective). Its definitely worth peeping… check for cameos from Kool Herc and Grand Master Flash.
