Remembering when these songs were big really makes me feel old. Check out the details below, via VIBE.com…
With smash hits like “No Games” and “She Loves Me,” Jamaican producer/vocalist Serani has a gift for taking raw and uncut dancehall to the pop charts. With his debut album No Games about to drop October 27 on Phase One Records, VIBE asked him to pick 5 of his favorite hardcore reggae cuts that broke through outernationally….
5 Chaka Demus and Pliers “Murder She Wrote”
That’s one of my favorite beats of all time. Big up to Sly & Robbie. That song still plays to this day and it’s all over movie soundtracks.
4 Wayne Wonder “No Letting Go”
Yo that’s just one very very very good song. It’s flawless. It’s got a lot of emotions. Just a big tune.
3 Devonte and Tanto Metro “Everyone Falls In Love”
That one went straight out of the dancehall to the pop charts. It’s so sweet with a nice hardcore dancehall beat.
